Gary Mullenax
Gary plays the keyboard!
Gary Mullenax began playing piano and organ at age eleven and has been a church musician most of his adult life. Classically trained as a pianist, Gary has accompanied school choirs on both the high school and collegiate levels and has filled in as pianist for the Maryland Symphony Orchestra. A lifelong music educator, Gary is excited about playing the Classic Rock music he had always listened to and bringing the music of Chris David to a wider audience.
I grew up deep in Appalachia, Pendleton County West Virginia. I first began playing on my grandmother's harmonium, and began serving as church pianist/organist at age 11. Earned degrees from Glenville State College and the University of Iowa, studying Music Education and Piano Performance. Worked on, but did not finish a DMA degree at Catholic University. Taught piano as an adjunct professor at Shepherd University, Catholic University, and Eastern Shore Community College, and am an active member of Music Teachers National Association, promoting quality music instruction. Growing up in Appalachia, I heard mountain, bluegrass, and other forms of country music, but spent most of my time listening to Classic Rock. I play Classical Music would like to explore jazz and rhythm and blues I decide a few years ago that I want to play popular forms of music where people can dance and have good time!
